Dental Implants
Dental implants can be an ideal solution for replacing damaged or missing teeth. They are very natural looking. Dentures are a less expensive option, but not everyone wants to wear them. With dental implants, a person can replace one missing tooth or an entire arch of missing teeth. Our dentists here at Ebrahimian Integrative Dentistry offer what is known as the All-on-4 implant system. This dental implant technique uses four to six mini-implants that are intricately placed in the front jaw bone where the bone is denser. Even if people have dealt with total tooth loss for years, the placement makes it possible for people with jawbone loss to undergo the procedure.
Attached to the implants is a single unit of teeth that is custom-made to look natural. It is similar to a dental bridge or overdenture but more advanced. The unit is made of porcelain teeth that are fused together but look like individual teeth, and there is natural-looking gum tissue to close any gaps around your teeth and gum lines. This is not the same pink acrylic material used in dentures that looks fake. The All-on-4 implant system makes teeth and gums look completely natural.
What’s involved in getting the All-on-4 implant system?
If you already are missing teeth and currently wearing dentures, the next step would be a consultation where we take digital images and impressions. Both of these are used to create your new restoration. The dentist may also need to do some more measurements to be sure everything fits in your mouth comfortably. Once the new restoration is made, you will come back to our office and have it placed along with the implants. If you still have some teeth that need extracting, this will be done prior to placing the implants. Everything is done in one day, so you don’t have to go without teeth.
Who can get the All-on-4 Implant system?
People who are missing most or all of their teeth or have teeth that are beyond repair are ideal candidates for this implant system. Maybe you wear dentures but don’t think you have a healthy jaw bone that can support this implant system. Many people are surprised to learn that their jaw bone is healthy enough and that this system can work for them. There are certain health issues that can cause you not to be able to get implants.
